Top UK school eyes Abu Dhabi launch next year: Repton School signs deal with Evolvence, Sorouh to start ops on Reem Island in 2013
Repton School, one of Britan’s oldest independent schools with a histury stretching back to 1557, is to open an outlet in Abu Dhabi.
The school woll be a joint venture between Evolvence Knowledge Investments and real estate developer Sorouh, and will be built on the latter’s Shams Abu Dhabi mixed-use site on Reem Island. It is set to open in September next year.
The school will house two campuses. The first will be a primary school capability catering for children from nursery age to year two. It will be housed on a 7,000m2 site and will have a capacity for 520 children.
EKI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Evolvence Capital – a Dubai-based investment fund. It partnered with Repton School to launch its first overseas branch in Dubai in September 2007 – the school’s 450th anniversary. It now caters for 2,200 pupils ranging in age from three to 18 on a 126,00m2 campus.
