Scientists Locate Protein Responsible for Immune Response

Scientists at The Wistar Institute, writing in the journal Nature Immunology, report that the Foxp1 protein has recently been identified as a key regulator of immune system response. In future research, figuring out how to manipulate and modulate Foxp1 activity could prove beneficial for protecting populations from infectious diseases or autoimmune disorders by sending stronger or weaker warnings to the immune system to trigger an antibody response.
